Off-grid

Connected,
completely off-grid.

At a packed festival or stadium, the network is the first thing to fail. Tonebeam Off-Grid keeps a whole crowd connected with no internet, no cellular, no Wi-Fi and no GPS — chat, navigation and finding your friends, venue-wide, however large the place.

When every network gives out.

Tens of thousands of phones in one place overwhelm cellular and Wi-Fi, and GPS can’t reach indoors. Messages stall, maps spin, and “share my location” quietly gives up — right when the crowd needs it most. Off-Grid doesn’t lean on any of those networks, so it keeps working when everything else has dropped out — in stadiums, festivals, malls and airports alike.

A crowd that stays connected.

Off-grid chat

Message the people around you on-site with no internet, cellular or Wi-Fi.

Off-grid navigation

Turn-by-turn wayfinding with no GPS and no signal — it runs on the devices around you.

Find your friends

Share where you are and meet up in a packed crowd, even with every network down.

No towers. No servers. No limits.

Off-Grid is a decentralized network: every device is a node, and the network forms itself out of whoever’s there. It works even if only two people in the entire venue are on it — and there’s no practical range limit, so it spans the whole site however large, getting stronger as more people join. This is breakthrough architecture; if you want the depth behind it, talk to us.

Private by design. Passive by default.

It’s secure and private from the ground up: messages stay within the local network of devices — nothing routes through the cloud, and nothing is recorded or uploaded. Phones act as passive receivers; their own speakers are never used. It runs in our app, a partner’s app, or straight from a link — whichever you prefer. More in the platform & security model.

Where it earns its keep.

  • Festivals & concertsKeep friends together and informed when the site network is overwhelmed.
  • Stadiums & sporting eventsCrowd messaging and wayfinding that don’t buckle under a full house.
  • Malls & airportsReliable indoor navigation and messaging where GPS fades and Wi-Fi is patchy.
  • Remote & off-grid sitesCommunication and navigation where there simply is no coverage.

Off-grid, answered.

Can people chat with no internet, cellular or Wi-Fi?

Yes. Tonebeam’s technology with the off-grid architecture keeps a whole crowd messaging on-site with every network down — the usual reality at a packed festival or stadium. It runs in our app, a partner’s app, or straight from a link.

Does navigation work with no GPS and no signal?

Yes. Turn-by-turn wayfinding runs entirely on the devices around you, so people find their way through a venue with no GPS and no connectivity at all.

Can I find and share location with friends without any signal?

Yes. People can locate each other and meet up in a packed crowd with no internet, cellular, Wi-Fi or GPS in play.

How far does it reach — is there a range limit?

There’s no practical range limit. The network spans the whole site, however large — a stadium, a festival field, a sprawling mall or an airport — and it gets stronger as more devices join.

Does it work if only a couple of people have it?

Yes. It works even if only two people in the entire venue are on it, and scales seamlessly up to a full house.

Does it work in malls, airports and large indoor venues?

Yes — anywhere networks are saturated or GPS can’t reach: malls, airports, stadiums, arenas, festivals and remote off-grid sites.

Is it private?

Yes. It’s decentralized and private by design — messages stay within the local network of devices, nothing routes through a server or the cloud, and nothing is recorded or uploaded.
